CALD Statement congratulating the Liberal Party of the Philippines as it celebrates its 64th Founding Anniversary

The Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) congratulates the Liberal Party of the Philippines (LP), former CALD chair-party, on the celebration of its 64th founding anniversary.

CALD lauds the LP for continuing to fight for the interest of the people, whether in the halls of power or in the streets, and for standing by its principles throughout its history to achieve long term democratic gains through sound liberal policies and action.

CALD believes in the credibility and capability of LP leaders to bring to fruition the aspirations and dreams of Filipinos by striving to end the debilitating consequences of transactional politics.

CALD is confident that LP is ready to take the challenge to fulfil the promises that have long been laid down before the Filipino people — to strengthen the country’s democratic processes and institutions and to give back to the people the power that rightfully belongs to them.

CALD joins the LP in its vision of achieving a better Philippines as it continues to be the voice of the people towards the achievement of true and functioning democracy.
