(June 8, 2007/ Manila) Two university students ended today their 180-hour summer internship program with the Council of Asian Liberals & Democrats (CALD).
The internship which began five weeks ago consisted of research and administrative work under the supervision of the CALD secretariat.
Ms. Guita Gopalan is an incoming senior at the Ateneo de Manila University majoring in Development Studies. She is actively engaged with the Ateneo Glee Club and works as a part-time voice instructor.
Ms. Paula Nea De Vera will be finishing her International Studies at Miriam College this coming school year. She has participated in the Japan Language and Culture Program which was held in Tokyo, Japan in 2006. She is also an active member of various school-based organizations at Miriam College. Among other duties, the two interns did the transcription of the two CALD activities in Jakarta, Indonesia; and did some research on political parties in select Asian countries
