- CALD-SEACA-MFA Conference on Migration

A two-day event organized by CALD, South East Asian Committee for Advocacy (SEACA), and Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA) and hosted by the Democrat Party of Thailand. A regional conference involving parliamentarians, civil society representatives, and various stakeholders in ASEAN, it sought to discuss how to push forward the ASEAN declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers and to build future initiatives to implement substantial actions that promote the rights of migrants.
- ALDE-CALD Meeting
15-17 April 2008 | Brussels, Belgium
A biennial meeting between ALDE and CALD to confront global issues such as climate change, the global fight against human trafficking and child prostitution, and the responses to human dignity. ALDEPAC, a grouping of liberal and democratic members from the Pacific, African and the Caribbean, also participated in the discussions.

A meeting organised by the Democratic Progressive Party of Taiwan for CALD and the Liberal Network of Latin America (RELIAL) to share the best practices and lessons learned by the regional organisations, highlight the effective strategies to further promote liberal principles and compare useful notes on the successful programs initiated over the years.

Sporting the theme “Retreat of Freedom and Weakening Governance: How do we safeguard democracy worldwide?”, this was a meeting of regional networks of liberal democratic parties from Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe convened to discuss the importance of liberal networks as drivers for democratic change and strengthening the institutions of human-rights protection, the rule of law, and democracy.
- 2nd CALD Political Party Management Workshop

The three-day workshop, with the theme “Setting COntexts and Contrasts: Building and Managing Liberal and Political Parties in Asia,” was second of a two-part series that sought to set and overview of how political parties function and why such political institutions are important in establishing a sound and effective government. Parti Gerakan Malaysia hosted the event.
