Bi-Khim Hsiao, MP, Director of the DPP International Affairs Department, as the Secretary General of the Council of Asian Liberals & Democrats. The DPP is the current chair party of CALD.  Ms. Hsiao replaces the Hon. Alongkorn Ponlaboot, MP, of the Democrat Party of Thailand.

Ms. Hsiao excels in international affairs and began her political career in the DPP’s Washington D.C. Office as a program coordinator.  During the 1996 Cross-Strait Crisis, as a graduate student, she mobilized overseas Taiwanese students to protest against China’s missile threats.  Ms. Hsiao received her Master’s Degree in political science from Columbia University and a degree in East Asian studies from Oberlin College in the United States.
