Liberal Parliamentarians Meet During the IPU Assembly

Liberal members of parliament from all over the world gathered in Hanoi, Vietnam on 27 March 2015 on the sidelines of the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). Organized by Liberal International (LI) and the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD), with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), the dinner reception was attended by liberal parliamentarians from Belgium, Botswana, Cambodia, Canada, Cote d’ Ivoire, Ireland, Lithuania, Malaysia, Philippines and South Africa. http://cald.org/site/cald/?p=9189

NLD Vows Accomplishing Unfinished Missions

The National League for Democracy (NLD), the main opposition party, yesterday pledged on the Armed Forces Day that it would continue to uphold the rule of law, help promote domestic peace and harmony, and push for the constitutional amendment. In a statement, NLD also pledged to cooperate with the military for national reconciliation without grudge.

Senate Passes Reformed Election Laws in Quick Vote

Election Law Sail Through March 23 2015
Lawmakers from the ruling and opposition parties yesterday passed two controversial election-related laws without any debate at the National Assembly.
