CALD publishes 2004 Annual Report

(April 22, 2005/ Manila)  The Council of Asian Liberals & Democrats (CALD) has released the 2004 CALD Annual Report.The 48-page brochure contains the messages of the CALD Chairman and Secretary General; a report on each of the 9 projects CALD held in 2004; a summary of the resolutions passed last year; an article on electoral victories of CALD member and observer parties; a review of the publication Asian Political Parties; an article on the turnover of the CALD chair party position from DP Thailand to DPP Taiwan; updates; a feature on the Young Liberals & Democrats of Asia; and, the comprehensive list of speakers and resource persons of 2004 CALD conferences, missions and workshops.

The Annual Report was based on the publication A Decade of Liberal Democracy in Asia: CALD 1993-2003, which served as CALD’s 10th anniversary commemorative brochure. This is the first printed Annual Report of CALD and will serve as the model for the 2005 and future annual reports.

The report was written and edited by Cecile Balgos under the overall supervision of CALD Executive Director John Coronel. Mr. Angelico Mercader served as art editor. Assisting in the project are CALD ProgramOfficers Brian Gonzales, Andrea Yang and Paolo Zamora.

The annual report was made possible with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
