Members of the CALD Secretariat paid a courtesy call to Bangkok Governor and former CALD Chairman M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra last March 4, 2010 in Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA).
Mr. John Joseph Coronel, CALD consultant and former Executive Director, introduced to Governor Paribatra CALD’s new Executive Director, Mr. Lito Arlegue. He also briefed the Governor regarding the outcome of the recently concluded CALD Colombo Conference on education, as well as CALD’s upcoming activities.
Governor Paribatra conveyed his appreciation of the visit and expressed his willingness to assist CALD in its future endeavors.
The meeting was also attended by other BMA officials such as Taya Teepsuwan, Deputy Governor of Bangkok; Pirapong Saicheua, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA; Saowapark Krajangyooth, Director, International Affairs Division; and Piyaporn Sankosik, Secretary to Governor of Bangkok.
Other members of the CALD delegation included Ms. Gianna Gayle Amul, CALD Program Officer; Mr. Brian Gonzales, ASEAN-WEN Liaison Officer and former CALD Program Officer; and Mr. Narwin Espiritu, FNF Web Developer.
The members of the Secretariat were received at the Amornpiman Room of BMA’s Hall of Angels. The room is being used to entertain overseas guests such as the diplomatic corps, mayors, governors and other guests. It is also being used by the members of the royal family when they attend ceremonies hosted by the BMA.
