“The most fascinating event was the speech delivered by Hon. Chia Kwang Chye,” remarked Mr. George Kamal Wijetunga Nissanka, the participant from the Liberal Party Sri Lanka. “And I think we were privileged to listen to his speech, which reflected his substance, eloquence, and humor.”

During the briefing, it was remarked that that Tower 2 of the PGRM-managed complex will be built by the end of 2006. Among others, Tower 2 will house a university and serviced apartments that can accommodate several hundred people. With this in mind, PGRM, through its Secretary General, extended the invitation for it to host a major CALD conference in 2007.

As tokens of appreciation, gifts were presented to Messrs. Chia and Vijayaratnam by Ms. Pingya Hsu of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of Taiwan and CALD Executive Director John Coronel, respectively. The participants noted the gracious hospitality of PGRM
