(April 25, 2005/ Bangkok) Thai parliamentarian Mr. Alongkorn Polaboot, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party of Thailand and member of the CALD Executive Committee, announced the selection of Ms. Kemchitra Chatraporn as the party’s nominee to the CALD Internship Program to the European Parliament. Ms. Chatraporn’s internship to Brussels, Belgium and Strasbourg, France will be from May 23 to June 18, 2005.
The internship program is sponsored by the Alliance of Liberal and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) with the assistance of the International Political Dialogue of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (IPD-FNF). Both ALDE and IPD-FNF are based in Brussels, Belgium. Ms. Chatraporn is the 7th CALD intern since the program started in June, 2003.
Ms. Chatraporn, 26, is the Research Analyst at the Democrat Party’s Research and Development Information Centre. Her extensive academic training includes two graduate degrees in the United Kingdom, an M.A. in Organisation Studies at Warwick Business School and an MS in Training and Human Resource Development at the University of Warwick; and a B.A. Political Science at theChulalongkorn University in Bangkok.
Ms. Chatraporn was a member of the working secretariat of the CALD 10th Anniversary Conference (December, 2003/ Bangkok) focusing on current political challenges for economic growth in Asia, which was hosted by the Democrat Party of Thailand.
