(February 20, 2007/ Brussels) M. Ravi of the Singapore Democratic Party ended today his fifteen-day internship at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium and Strasbourg, France.
Graduating from the University Cardiff in UK, M. Ravi is an Advocate & Solicitor who was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1997. Prior to that in 1993, Ravi graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Political Science and Sociology.
M. Ravi began his legal career in civil and criminal litigation and is today armed with extensive court work experience. M. Ravi has also gained experience working with teams in foreign law practices and has been active in the academia having lectured for various institutions like Monash University, University of Queensland, University of London and National University of Singapore.
He was a presenter in Current Affairs and Magazine Programme at TCS from 1992-1995 and actively participated in televised debates and various stage play.
M. Ravi is the co-author of the book “Land of Good English” and recently launched his second book “Hung At Dawn”. Today he is the Singapore’s leading human rights lawyer.
The internship program for CALD member parties is organized by the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) and the International Political Dialogue of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (IPD-FNF). It involves parliamentary work in the EP in Brussels, Belgium and Strasbourg, France and research and advocacy initiatives in select European non-government organizations.
