CALD hires new Program Officer

(January 2, 2007/ Manila) Mr. Carlo Religioso starts today his work as the newly hired Program Officer of the Council of Asian Liberals & Democrats (CALD).

Prior to his CALD posting, Mr. Religioso was with the Philippine Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as Project Consultant in 2003 and as a member of its National Staff in 2004. He also worked briefly with the Singaporean and Canadian Embassies in Manila.

Mr. Religioso was Chairman of Youth Without Borders and Co-founder/Vice-President of the UNESCO Club of Metro Manila. He has participated in trainings and conferences in Japan, Cyprus, France, Thailand, Lithuania, Czech Republic and the Philippines.

Mr. Religioso finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs at the De La Salle University-College of St. Benilde.

Mr. Religioso replaces Mr. Brian Gonzales who was appointed Southeast Asia Project Officer of the IUCN-The World Conservation Union regional office based in Bangkok, Thailand.
