CALD launches new website and Facebook account

The CALD secretariat recently made a soft launch of its new and revitalized website atwww.cald.org. This fresh and dynamic site includes information, photos and videos of CALD activities as well as news about its members and the growing liberal family in Asia and beyond. CALD has also entered into the buzzing, modern world of Facebook through the CALD group account which will initiate everyday updates about CALD and current topics of concern.

CALD strives to provide a forum in any means possible to initiate dialogues on developments occurring in the Asian region and across the globe. We envision these avenues as platforms to help assess liberal solutions to political, economic, social and cultural challenges. In this manner, CALD would be able to foster strengthened and sustained cooperation through exchanges of ideas and network-building in the greater arena of cyberspace.

The load of information uploaded in the previous CALD website is quite immense. The last stage of completion of its new site will be finalized on January of 2009. In the meantime, the secretariat is inviting everyone to sign-up and to add CALD in their Facebook accounts by click here. We encourage everyone to post comments and start discussions.

The Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD) was inaugurated in Bangkok in 1993, with the support of then Thai Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai and South Korea’s Kim Dae-Jung. CALD, which offers a unique platform for dialogue and cooperation, is the only regional alliance of liberal and democratic political parties in Asia.
