Mah: ASEAN Needs Innovation To Become Economic And Manufacturing Powerhouse

 ASEAN must push for homegrown innovations to stand out as an economic and manufacturing powerhouse, says Minister in Prime Minister Department, Datuk Mah Siew Keong.

He pointed out that for a long time, the economic development in a majority of ASEAN states, had been heavily dependent on government infrastructure development, foreign direct investments and growth of local conglomerates.

Asia-Africa Summit: Leaders Urge Major Reforms at UN and other International Bodies

 Leaders at the Asia-Africa Conference (ACC) commemorating its 60th anniversary have urged for reforms at the UN and other key international bodies calling for increasing participation from the developing nations.

The summit of the Asian and African nations kick-starts in the Indonesian capital Jakarta. Thirty two world leaders and top dignitaries from 92 other countries are attending the event.
