(January 25, 2008/ Cagayan de Oro, Philippines) The CALD secretariat, together with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Manila office and the YLDA secretariat staff, had their annual team building and strategic planning workshop last January 22-25, 2008 in Marco Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City and in the Acosta residence/farm in Bukidnon.

More than planning the projects for 2008, the activity was a venue to evaluate the job performances of the staff and to improve work relations among the three secretariats. This was an opportune time to revisit goals and be reminded of the work responsibilities needed to establish better mechanisms for accountability. The workshop also sought to identify work strategies and define clearer benchmarks for performance results and accomplishment.

Dr. Neric Acosta, CALD Secretary General, accompanied the group to a tour of his hometown in Bukidnon and hosted a sumptuous dinner in his residence. According to Dr. Acosta, “This workshop held in a bucolic setting allowed our team to know each other better, set our goals collectively, and strengthen our resolve to make this 15th year of CALD truly productive and rewarding.”
