PKB and PDIP receive CALD Director in Jakarta

(November 1, 2006/ Jakarta) Mr. John Joseph S. Coronel, Executive Director of the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats, was received yesterday by officials of the Nation Awakening Party (PKB) and the Indonesian Party of Struggle (PDIP} during his visit to the Indonesian capital.

Mr. Taslim Hermawi, PKB Chairperson, hosted a dinner for Mr. Coronel and the staff of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation-Jakarta headed by Dr. Rainer Adam. Among the other PKB officials present were Mr. Eko Derwanto, member of the party’s Executive Committee, and Ms. Camilla Puji Astuti of the party’s youth wing.

Mr. Coronel also met with PDIP represented by Hon. Hasto Kristiyanto, MP, Mr. Hanjaya Setiawan, Ms. Indah Pertiwi Natadiningrat and Mr. Mr. Beny Viarora Sinaga

Mr. Coronel discussed the forthcoming Political Party Management and Development Workshop in Jakarta which is envisioned for February, 2007.  Towards the end of the workshop, the CALD Executive Committee will have a meeting and will visit the party headquarters of PKB and PDIP.

The two parties invited the CALD delegation to their respective headquarters and each party will host a reception for the CALD Executive Committee and the delegates of the said workshop.
