Taiwanese Legislator Hsiao visits Manila

(December 22, 2004/ Manila, Philippines) Taiwanese Legislator, Bi-Khim Hsiao, of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and CALD Secretary General, visited the Friedrich Naumann Manila-CALD secretariat offices today in Makati City, Metro Manila.Ms. Hsiao met with CALD Executive Director John Coronel and FNF Resident Representative Ronald Meinardus to discuss the activities of CALD for 2005.  DPP is the current chair party of CALD.

Dr. Hsin-hsing Wu, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Manila, hosted a lunch in her honor. Messrs. Meinardus and Coronel will be hosting a dinner for Ms. Hsiao at the Manila Shangri-la Hotel and expected to attend are representatives of the Liberal Party and the liberal think tank, the National Institute for Policy Studies.
